Ingredients

  • 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Butterfly each chicken breast by slicing horizontally through the middle, stopping before you cut all the way through.
  3. Pound the chicken breasts into a thin layer, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  5. On one half of each chicken breast, layer ham and Swiss cheese.
  6. Roll up each chicken breast to enclose the filling and secure with toothpicks.
  7. Combine Panko breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and garlic powder in a shallow dish.
  8. Dip each chicken breast in melted butter, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture.

Notes

- For extra crispy coating, ensure chicken is fully dry before buttering and breading.
- If chicken rolls open during baking, a toothpick can help secure them.
- Cook until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) for food safety.
